§ 5.3. Exceptions to height limits

  • The height limits of this appendix may be modified in its application to church spires, belfries, cupolas, penthouses, domes, water towers, observation towers power transmission towers, radio towers, masts and aerials, flagpoles, chimneys, smokestacks, ventilators, skylights, derricks, conveyors, cooling towers, and other similar and necessary mechanical appurtenances pertaining to and necessary to or customarily incidental to the permitted uses of the district in which they are located. In case a question arises as to the necessity or degree of incidentalness or length of custom, the building inspector shall refer the question to the board of appeals for its ruling.
