§ 5.12. Site plan application procedure

  • 1. The applicant shall obtain one copy of the site plan application form from the planning division of the department of community development.

    2. The applicant shall complete and return the application with the specified number of copies of the site plan and with the required fee, to the planning division.

    3. The planning division staff shall review the application and site plan and transmit the same, with their findings and recommendations, to the planning commission.

    4. Applicant(s) will be notified by mail regarding the date their respective request will be on the planning commission agenda.

    5. The planning administrator shall, within 45 days of receipt of application schedule the request for consideration and upon approval shall provide one copy of the approved site plan or conditions for approval if applicable to the applicant and two copies of the same to the building and safety engineering division.

    6. Any decision of the planning commission may be appealed to the city council within 30 days of the applicant's receipt of the decision of the planning commission. The city council shall, after consideration of same, make the final decision which may set aside all or part of the planning commission's requirements. The city council will set out in writing the reasons why it does not concur with the planning commission.
