§ 18.9. Temporary signs

  • 9.1. The following signs shall be permitted for a period of 180 days, and renewable for additional 60 days periods, by approval of the administrator of building and safety engineering division, or his/her designee, except as specified below.

    a. Construction signs: [Signs] which identify the architects, engineers, contractors and other individuals of firms involved with the construction, but not including any advertisement of any product, and signs announcing the character of the building enterprises for the purpose for which the building is intended, during the construction period, to a maximum area of 16 square feet for each firm. The signs shall be confined to the site of the construction and shall be removed before any occupant permits are issued.

    b. Street banners: Advertising a public entertainment or event, if specifically approved by the director of the department of public works and services and only for locations designated by the director of the department of public works and services, during and for 14 calendar days before and seven calendar days after the event.
