§ 10.5.4. Plans for the layout of off-street parking lots

  • Site plans for the layout of off-street parking lots shall be required to show:

    a. A minimum width of 12 feet for each parking space reserved for handicapped persons;

    b. Except for those handicapped parking spaces referred to above, each parking space shall have a minimum width of nine feet;

    c. Except in the case of parallel parking, each parking space shall have a minimum length of 20 feet;

    d. For those parking spaces in a parallel parking configuration, the minimum length shall be 23 feet;

    e. For all parking layouts the minimum aisle (maneuvering lane) width which permits two-way traffic movement shall be 20 feet;

    f. For parallel parking layouts and angle parking layouts, in which the angle between the long dimension of the parking space(s) and the aisle (maneuvering lane) measures 50 degrees or less, the minimum aisle (maneuvering lane) width which permits one-way traffic movement shall be 12 feet;

    g. For angle parking layouts, in which the angle between the long dimension of the parking space(s) and the aisle (maneuvering lane) measures 54 degrees to 74 degrees, the minimum aisle (maneuvering lane) width shall be 20 feet.
